Cultural Equity & Diversity Meeting, April 21st
PRIDA Members/Cultural Activists:
I am asking you to share this information to all your colleagues, partners & supporters. I can’t emphasize enough the importance of this special meeting. It is not just a call to arms for the usual suspects. We want artists of color as well as arts organizations of color who have not been part of the funding equation or have received minimal support to join us in advocating a much broader definition of culture as well as demanding to be part of the funding formula.
As the city council and the department of cultural affairs come closer to finalizing a new cultural plan for NYC, we need to make sure that the communities of color with their artists & arts organizations are not only listened to but are part of the formula with adequate support.
